French Conversation III
Clare Maddicott
We meet on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 near Ludlow. We are a new group and for now we have agreed to concentrate on improving our conversational skills and will take it in turn to lead meetings. The leader will propose a topic for the group to discuss. The idea is to create a cheerful, fun, environment, but one which is firmly focused on improving our grasp of spoken French

Fun with Maths
Derek Ball
A group of us meet monthly on second Monday afternoons.
Do you enjoy using your brain to explore puzzles and patterns? This is what we do, more often than not using materials of various kinds with which to make geometrical pictures and patterns to discuss and investigate, and frequently there are significant mathematical ideas lurking behind what we are doing. We are a mixed group in terms of our mathematical qualifications, but this does not prevent any us from knowing exactly what is going on, while being challenged at the same time and, above all, enjoying ourselves.

Garden visits
Sue Harrison-Stone
We meet monthly, except in the winter months, to visit local and not so local gardens. We don't have a set day for our visits, as it depends on when the gardens are open. Examples of our visits in 2023 have been to Powys Castle, Lower Hope Gardens, Hergest Croft and David Austin Rose Nursery. We try to ensure that refreshments are available too!
